Ms.Venus Zhou
Ms. Venus Zhou is a professional Psychology teacher and school counsellor at Han Academy. She holds both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in Psychology and has more than four years of teaching experience, underpinned by a solid and systematic foundation in the field. She has interned and worked in multiple primary and secondary schools in Hong Kong, gaining a thorough understanding of local students’ psychological development characteristics, school teaching models, and the common psychological challenges students face during their growth, thereby accumulating rich teaching and counselling experience well suited to the local school context.
She upholds a student-centred and personalised educational philosophy, teaching in accordance with each student’s psychological growth patterns and rejecting one-size-fits-all approaches. Her teaching is characterised by two distinctive features. First, hierarchical psychological guidance: she designs differentiated classroom content and emotional support plans according to students’ grade levels, personalities, and cognitive differences, helping them address common issues such as emotional anxiety, social difficulties, and insufficient self-awareness. Second, contextualised teaching: she integrates abstract psychological knowledge with real campus life scenarios through case analysis, role-play simulations, and group interactions, making the knowledge practical and effectively enhancing students’ emotional regulation and environmental adaptation abilities. Over years of practice, both students’ classroom engagement and psychological adaptability have shown clear improvement.
Throughout her educational work, Ms. Zhou consistently cares for every student with sincerity. She once patiently accompanied a quiet, sensitive student who feared social interaction, maintaining daily after-class conversations to listen and gradually guide the student to open up, while using group tasks to help build confidence. After several months, the student successfully broke through personal barriers and began actively participating in communication and collective activities.
Ms. Zhou’s message to students: “Every child is a unique starlight. There is no need to chase the light of others—may you accept yourself, grow gently, and possess the power to heal yourself and embrace life.”
